Start by downloading the corresponding package for your configuration:
You can also install Kong via YUM; follow the instructions on the "Set Me Up" section on the page below.
If you are downloading the package, execute:
$ sudo yum install epel-release $ sudo yum install kong-community-edition-0.12.1.*.noarch.rpm --nogpgcheck
Prepare your database
If you are using PostgreSQL, please provision a database and a user, ie:
CREATE USER kong; CREATE DATABASE kong OWNER kong;
Now, run the Kong migrations:
$ kong migrations up [-c /path/to/kong.conf]
Note: migrations should never be run concurrently; only one Kong nodes should be performing migrations at a time.
$ kong start [-c /path/to/kong.conf]
Kong is running:
$ curl -i http://localhost:8001/
